Rivals' default style

Extra systems Forward bases — station troops in an ally: a tripwire that makes an alliance credible, and reach into a region. Bases show on the map. Crisis decisions — when a secret nuclear programme is uncovered, teams decide whether to strike, sabotage or contain; a coastal state can close its strait, and every team decides whether to escort convoys, strike, share the cost, or free-ride. Spheres of influence — a continent's leading power can proclaim a doctrine and offer its neighbours protection; they choose to accept, find a protector across the ocean, or stand alone (Galloway's path to leading its continent without conquest). Strike menu — a strike can hit forces, infrastructure (which tends to make a nation rally, not break), a detected nuclear programme, or just send a limited signal.
